1./15./8./17./7. on EOC

Long Q  / Long F / Middle Q / Middle F / Relay

It’s time to make some statement about my runs at EOC.

I have a mixed feeling, cause it could have been better, but also much worse. But in retrospective I can say I’m satisfied with whole championship. The worst performance came on the last day during the relay. I lost contact with the leading group at second forking area after a long climb I stopped just a few meters away from my control, but I thought I was too low in the slope. So I climbed even higher and there I couldn’t understand the map for a while. I found a water stream crossing, which was quite big, but not draw in the map. After I found the control it was really hard to get back on track. Luckily I managed to caught some time back in the middle part of the course. I finished on the edge of a big group (2xSWE, 2xFIN, and lot more). And I sent Pavel 1:47 behind into the fight. Pavel Kubát and especially Jan Procházka did a great job and they moved our team into 7th place. which is a great result for second team at EOC. Before the race we didn’t feel like a second team. We wanted to fight agains our first team about the privilege to be in the result list. but (Jan, Jan and Vojtěch) were running even better than we did. And they could celebrate bronze medal. Well done guys. Its’s really nice to have such a strong men’s team.

One really unpleasant experience came on saturday’s afternoon. I entered myself into upcoming czech cup middle distance. I asked if I can start in the race after I was there on friday during EOC-middle-final. Nobody cared. So I raced and I won. Protest appeared the day after from the guy who was following me half of the race. That was cruel. In Czech republic you know it’s advantage to run five races in six days before Czech cup. with last race of EOC on the same day! haha.. Shame on you Udržal, Procházka, Nožka.. You should probably train more, if such an exhausted competitor can beat you. If I would be 15th nobody would have cared about me. And they would be even happy cause I brought some point for them. Nobody would have played rules in that case I’m sure of this opinion. I have no power to argue with those too much competitive veterans, and youngsters with unsatisfied ambitions. results

They call it Czech cup, but none from competitors from WC/EOC figure high there. And when I tryed to be there this is what happened! f..k it. Now I’m focusing just on international races for the rest of the year. Current world cup standings.

(exhausted after 1st leg)

Maybe I took it too personally, but that’s me. I’m not gonna change. 😉

Selection races for WOC and Jukola next!

(Jinak by ses přece sám neptal.)

A zakopali “válečnou sekeru”.

  3. That was a fault of the head controller who let you start the race, sorry. The rules are clear for all – no enter the embarged areas before the race no matter how good you are (and you are good, yes, as well as the rest of the Czech national team). Could have the national team a training race before every Czech Cup because its members are always better than the rest of competitors??? If the event schedule is such inconvenient, you should choose between the international and home ground. And as a representant of the national team, you should observe the rules twice.
